There are several WordPress themes for bands and musicians available on the WordPress Repository and on ThemeForest if you are looking for a little more control than the free band website platforms that have pre-built templates or maybe you want to build your own publishing rights, become a label, and sell your own music.
We love WordPress here and think it’s a great solution for nearly any type of enterprise and bands have a variety including: merchandise, event ticketing, promotion, and possibly selling music in digital or analog form. You are going to need WooCommerce and SSL, if you want a free test environment on WPEngine we tell you how to do that at the end of this post.
One thing these themes all have in common, great pictures. You need a professional photographer to shoot practice or a gig, your iPhone photos are not impressive and they make good web design look bad.

Free WordPress Themes For Bands & Musicians
- Rock Star
-
The title of this theme is quite aspirational, but you probably have big dreams. It’s a clean design, long list of WordPress Customizer options, social media integrations, show calendar, and a few layout options for you to choose from.
- Muso
- Muso is the theme I was talking about when I told you to hire a photographer. If you put a professional photo on it, suddenly you look professional. If you put an iPhone pic on it you are going to look like a child. This is a simple theme with not many options, I like that, Muso is just a clean site design to focus on you and your music.
- Sungit Lite
- Sungit Lite is not the most visually stunning site that I have seen it is a clean design and has a lot of options for layouts and customizations to really make it your own. This is a freemium theme, which I tend to avoid when I can, the features I usually really want are paid, and there is usually a better (free) solution anyway. Freemium always feels like a half-measure to me. That said, Sungit is a theme I would pick for my band. The media player is better than the other two and this seems like a better site to run WooCommerce if you wanted to add it. None of the free themes listed here support WooCommerce.

Premium WordPress Themes For Bands & Musicians
We didn’t write a long description for these premium themes, a lot of the share the same features: WooCommerce, audio & visual media libraries, social media integration, events, Visual Composer, and some include ticketing. WooCommerce is the big step up from the Free Themes.
There are different services to connect, some themes connect with Google Maps for Events or BandsinTown, but you may prefer to have that functionality in a plugin than stay married to that theme to keep a specific function. Chances are you won’t need to update your design soon enough to care, or if you do make it big in music and need a new site you will be able to afford it.
I really like Sonik, Decibel, and Croma and in that order. Do your own research, check the reviews and support threads for anything you are planning on using for your website.
