Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

When you use SEO Bandwagon, we may collect information you provide directly, such as your name and email address when you create an account with Google, with GitHub, with Product Hunt, or with a one-time link or code sent to your email address. An AI agent or script working for you can request that code through our API; the account is created only when the code from your inbox is entered. We also collect usage data including search queries, pages visited, and feature usage to improve our services.

To limit abuse of email sign-in, we keep a one-way hash of the email address and of the IP address behind each sign-in or sign-up request for 30 days, then delete it.

While you are signed in, we record against your account which pages of our site you view (the page address only, never anything after a question mark), when you sign in, when you remove or pause tracked keywords, and the calls made with your API keys or through our MCP server. We use this record to run and support the service and to see how it is used. It is not shared with advertisers, and it is deleted with your account.

Browser Extension

The SEO Bandwagon Chrome extension analyzes pages in your browser. It sends us your analyses only if you connect it to your account with an API key and leave its data-collection setting on. When both are true, saving a page sends the full analysis result to seobandwagon.com over HTTPS: the page URL and capture time; extracted on-page SEO data (title, meta tags, canonical, robots, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, structured data); headings; link, image and media audits; content statistics such as word counts and top phrases; page technical facts such as element counts and load time; detected technologies; Core Web Vitals; readability and keyword statistics; hreflang, mixed-content and schema checks; a hash of the page content; the computed score; and the extension version and your browser's user-agent string. Filing a local citation sends only the citation fields (directory name and URL, the name, address, phone and website found on the page, the match score, status and notes) and never the screenshot, which stays on your device. From extension 1.11.0, on a Google search results page you open, the extension sends seobandwagon.com the full address of each result shown, with its site, up to 10 at a time, so it can show figures under each result. It does this only with your account connected and after you turn the figures on in the extension's settings, which say what is sent before anything is; it never sends your search terms and never asks Google for anything. We look the figures up by those addresses with DataForSEO (see Third-Party Services below), and keep each address with its figures for 30 days to answer later requests, without recording who asked; your account keeps only a count of the day's searches with new figures. Domain age comes from the domain registries' public records (RDAP). From 1.12.0 it also sends, only when you ask for their figures, the address of a page you pin to compare with the results and of the pages an AI Overview cites. Its Analyze button reads a result's page, and that site's robots.txt and llms.txt, from your browser without your cookies, and sends us nothing of them. Versions 1.10.2 to 1.10.4 send nothing from a results page; earlier versions sent the domains of the results shown, never your search terms. The checks that read other pages (the link check, indexability, hreflang return tags and the rendering comparison) request those pages from the sites they are on, without your cookies. The extension does not read or send your browsing history. Captures are visible only to the account that saved them.

Installing the extension opens one page on our site, with first steps; removing it opens a page that asks why you removed it. Both are ordinary visits to seobandwagon.com, and their links carry campaign tags like any other (see Cookies & Analytics below). Answering the question is optional. If you answer, we store your choice, the note you type if any, the extension version and referral code in the link, and the time. We do not store your IP address, and the answer is linked to your account only if you are signed in to SEO Bandwagon in that browser.

AI Overview study

SEO Bandwagon runs a study of which pages Google's AI Overviews cite. Only people we invite take part, and only after they join on the study page of their dashboard; it is the one exception to what the Browser Extension section says about search terms. When a member clicks Send to study on a search the study assigned them, the extension sends us that results page as its own CSV export: the search term, each result's position, address, site, title, snippet, breadcrumb, date and rating, the page's result count, search features, related searches and People also ask questions, the AI Overview's text and the pages it cites, Google's country and language settings, the capture time and the extension version. It sends nothing for any other search. We keep each capture in our Cloudflare R2 storage under a study code made from the account, never under the member's name or email, and apart from the account: it never appears in the account's captures, history or keyword data. We also keep the member's metro, the searches assigned each day, whether each was sent, and the days the member reported that Google stopped them. We publish counts and findings, never a member's captures. A member can leave at any time on the same page; captures already sent stay in the study under the study code, and we delete them on request to info@seobandwagon.com.

Outreach Data

If you use link building, we store the send-from email address and postal address you provide so they can appear in the pitches you approve. We never send email for you.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve our SEO tools, personalize your experience, save your search history and tracked keywords, and communicate with you about your account. If you accept the cookie banner, we also use your visits to this site to show you SEO Bandwagon ads, as described under Advertising below.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest and in transit. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

We use DataForSEO for search data, Product Hunt for launch data, Google, GitHub and Product Hunt for sign-in, Google Workspace to send sign-in and account email, and Stripe for payment processing. Each of these services has their own privacy policies. A Product Hunt sign-in shares your Product Hunt username and name; Product Hunt does not share your email address, so we ask for one and confirm it with a code before sending Product Hunt launch alerts.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you accept the cookie banner; if you reject it (or ignore it), Google Consent Mode keeps analytics and advertising storage denied and none of these cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it at any time on our Cookie Choices page. We also send Google Analytics server-side events when you create an account, sign in, or complete a purchase. If you accepted the cookie banner, the sign-up and sign-in events carry the identifier Google Analytics keeps in your browser, so they count as part of your visit. Otherwise, and for purchases, these events carry no browser identifiers.

When you first arrive, we also set a first-party cookie that records how you found us: the campaign tags or referral code in the link you followed, the search engine or site that sent you (never the page you came from), the page you landed on, and when. If you arrive by clicking one of our Google ads, it also keeps the click identifier Google adds to that link. Google can match that identifier to the ad click; it does not tell us who you are. The cookie lasts 90 days, counted again from each click on one of our ads. If you create an account or send us a message through our contact form, these values are saved with the account or the message, so we can tell which campaigns bring sign-ups and inquiries. The sign-up event we send to Google Analytics carries them without the ad click identifier. We may also tell Google Ads which of its ad clicks led to an account or a message, by that identifier, to measure our ads; we never send Google your name, email address or message for this. Rejecting the cookie banner deletes this cookie and stops it being set.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and measures how fast pages load, for every visitor. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and Cloudflare does not use it to identify or follow individual visitors.

Advertising

We advertise SEO Bandwagon with Google Ads, using the advertising features of Google Analytics. If you accept the cookie banner, Google Analytics may add your browser to audiences of past visitors that we share with Google Ads, so our ads can appear to you on Google services such as Gmail. We also use Google signals, which lets Google connect analytics from this site with your Google account when your account settings allow personalized ads. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on seobandwagon.com, and Google may use its own cookies to show and measure our ads.

Google does not give us the names or email addresses of the people in these audiences. We do not use your SEO Bandwagon account details, or data from Google services you connect to SEO Bandwagon, to choose who sees our ads.

We also advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which belong to Meta, using the Meta Pixel. If you accept the cookie banner, the Meta Pixel runs on our public pages, never on your dashboard, sign-in pages, reports or the job pages. It tells Meta which of those pages you open, and when you send our contact form or create an account, so our ads can reach past visitors on Facebook and Instagram and we can see which ads bring inquiries and sign-ups. It may also tell Meta which buttons you click on those pages. Meta can connect these visits to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one. To help it do that, when you type your name, email address or phone number into a form on those pages, such as our contact form or the newsletter sign-up, the Meta Pixel may send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of it. The Meta Pixel sets first-party cookies on seobandwagon.com, and Meta may use its own cookies to show and measure our ads. If you reject the cookie banner, or ignore it, the Meta Pixel is not loaded at all.

To opt out, reject the cookie banner or change your answer on our Cookie Choices page. Changing your answer applies to your future visits. If you have already been added to one of our audiences, you can turn off personalized ads, or block our ads, in My Ad Center, where you can also manage the other ads Google shows you. Our Chrome extension also has its own one-page site, freeseochromeextension.com. Its cookie banner asks the same question, and if you accept there, the same Google Analytics and Meta Pixel described above run on that page and set their first-party cookies on freeseochromeextension.com. That site keeps its own answer: change it with the Cookie Choices button at the foot of its page.

If you fill in one of our lead forms on Facebook or Instagram, Meta sends us what you entered, such as your name, email address and business details. We use it to respond to your request and to follow up with you about our services, and we never sell it.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the Search Ledger from a city page or the site footer, we store your email address and where you signed up. We use it only to send the weekly ledger and never sell it. If you have accepted the cookie banner, the Meta Pixel may send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of the address when you subscribe, as described under Advertising. To be removed, email info@seobandwagon.com from the subscribed address.

Job applicants

If you apply for a job with us, we collect what the application form asks for: your name, email address, phone number, the state you live in, the industries you know, your answers, and your LinkedIn profile address if you give it. We use it only to consider you for the role and to contact you about it. It is stored in our database and emailed to the person who hires; we do not sell it, and we share it only with the services that store and deliver it for us. We keep an application for two years after the listing closes, then delete it. You can ask us to delete yours sooner by writing to us at info@seobandwagon.com.
