LAST UPDATED
Entry is the entry rung of the agency's SEO ladder, a month, read from the whole page rather than the cheapest figure on it; top tier is the highest figure attached to a named SEO tier. Prices change. The linked page is the one to check, and the last column is the day we read it.

An independent check on the level: Ahrefs polled 439 SEO providers on what they charge and found a mean local SEO retainer of $1,557 a month. The mean entry price here is $1,517. Two instruments with no method, sample or author in common. Ahrefs' poll.
Counts are the census entry prices in each band. The descriptions are read from the tier feature lists on those pages, on September 2, 2026.
| ENTRY PRICE, A MONTH | AGENCIES | WHAT THE PAGES IN THE BAND PROMISE |
|---|---|---|
| $0 to $499 | 4 | Listings and a Business Profile, a dashboard, or one line item inside a larger package; often priced for one location. |
| $500 to $999 | 12 | One location: Business Profile management, citations, a handful of tracked keywords and a monthly report. Content is usually zero to one post. |
| $1,000 to $2,499 | 18 | The common agency entry package: technical fixes, one to four pieces of content, a few links a month, a named contact. |
| $2,500 and above | 7 | Multi-location or competitive-market work: more content, digital PR, strategist time, weekly touchpoints. |
Every price we charge is on the pricing page. The two that belong beside this list: SEO Services, a person doing the monthly work, and Agentic Local, agents doing it for one location. Agentic Local is software plus agents rather than a hands-on retainer, so the like-for-like row is SEO Services. Both are month-to-month, cancel anytime.

QUESTIONS BUYERS ASK
Of the 653 US local SEO agencies we checked, 41 publish a monthly SEO price, and their entry prices run from $246 to $3,500 a month. The median is $1,500; among the 27 that publish a ladder, the median top tier is $3,000.
The rest of the market is a quote. Roughly nine in ten of the agencies checked publish no SEO price you could compare: 91.3% once a random re-test of 150 of the agencies with no pricing page found is counted in, with a 95% interval of 89.2% to 93.4%.
An independent poll agrees on the level. Ahrefs asked 439 SEO providers what they charge and found a mean local SEO retainer of $1,557 a month; the mean entry price on this list is $1,517.
Yes, every one of them, on the pricing page. The two that belong beside this list are SEO Services, a person doing the monthly work, at $995/month, and Agentic Local, agents doing it for one location, at $249/month for one location.
Agentic Local is software plus agents, so it is not a like-for-like row against a hands-on retainer; SEO Services is. Both are month-to-month, cancel anytime, and the free audit shows what your site needs before you pay for either.
We do not rank them, and neither does this list: it is every US local SEO agency in the Semrush partner directory that publishes a monthly SEO price, in price order.
Most pages that rank agencies are written by agencies, and the writer tends to come first. A published price, month-to-month terms and a report that shows what changed are the three things to check before any ranking.
What a price buys changes with the band. The cheapest tiers on these pages are listings, a Business Profile and a dashboard; the common agency entry package adds technical fixes, a few pieces of content and a handful of links a month; the top tiers add strategist time and multi-location work.
Most never made a pricing page: 176 of the 653 agencies checked had one at a standard path. Of the 75 whose page led with a monthly figure, only 26 had put their own SEO price there; the others led with hosting, a CRM licence, ad management, someone else's survey or a budget selector.
Reading each page in full found 41 agencies with an SEO price, because some bury the SEO ladder under other products, and a random re-test of 150 of the 478 agencies with no page found turned up 5 more with a real pricing page of their own, 3.3% of the sample. That is how the corrected estimate of 8.7% publishing was reached, which leaves roughly nine in ten publishing nothing you could compare.
In Ahrefs' poll of 439 SEO providers, consultants reported a mean of $3,250 a month, freelancers $1,348 and agencies $3,209; the mean hourly rate across the poll was $111.
On Clutch, 45% of the 4,146 US agencies that publish an hourly band put it at $100 to $149 an hour, read 2026-08-27. Those are self-reported bands, not invoices.
SEO Bandwagon publishes no consulting rate. What it publishes is the monthly package and the retainer above, and the free audit, which is where a consultation would start anyway.
