COMPARISON · CHECKED OCTOBER 6, 2026
These two tools do different jobs, and most of the table above reads "Not stated" on their side for a reason that says nothing against them: it is a table of page-inspection features, and Keyword Surfer is not a page inspector. Surfer’s own help centre describes a tool that "lets you analyze search results and get keyword suggestions from Google". At that job it does things ours does not do at all — search volume and CPC for your keyword, estimated traffic and competitor word counts on the results, in 70 countries, keyword suggestions with a SERP-overlap similarity score, and saved keyword collections that export to CSV, all free and with no account. If your question is "what should I write about and who already ranks for it", install theirs. If your question is "is this page any good, and what is wrong with it", install ours. They sit at opposite ends of the same workflow and a lot of people run both.
Written by SEO Bandwagon, who make one of the two extensions on this page. We have tried to make that impossible to forget rather than easy to miss: Keyword Surfer's advantages are listed before ours, and every row in the table below is checkable against their own published pages.
This section comes first on purpose. Keyword Surfer is published by Surfer (surferseo.com) and, as of October 6, 2026, its Chrome Web Store listing shows 600,000 users at 4.2 out of 5, from 1K ratings, last updated 28 January 2026, as the store dates it in the US. It runs on Chrome and other Chromium browsers, without a guarantee. The listing says to add it "to any Chromium-based search engine"; Surfer’s help centre says Opera, Brave or Arc "should also work" but "we cannot always guarantee compatibility due to updates." No Surfer-published Firefox add-on exists on addons.mozilla.org.
Capabilities only — nothing here rates how well either tool does its job. 0 rows go our way, 1 goes theirs, and on 15 more Keyword Surfer's own pages do not say either way.

Every row above was checked on October 6, 2026 against Keyword Surfer’s own Chrome Web Store listing, surferseo.com/keyword-surfer-extension/, Surfer’s two help-centre articles on the extension and addons.mozilla.org, and against our own extension, version 1.7.1, in the same sitting. User counts and ratings are whatever the Web Store displayed that day.
“Not stated” means exactly that: Keyword Surfer's own pages neither claim the capability nor rule it out, and we will not turn that silence into a “No”.
Products change. A comparison page that is right on the day it ships and never re-checked becomes a false claim about someone else's software, so this one carries its date in the open and gets re-verified before every publish rather than left to age.
