Roughly nine in ten US local SEO agencies publish no price at all; we checked 654 of them in August 2026. Ours are on this page: Agentic Local at $249/month for one location, agents doing the monthly work and you approving every change, or the SEO Services retainer at $995/month, a person doing it. Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of making your website show up higher in Google search results. When someone types "plumber near me" or "best pizza in Austin," SEO is what determines whether your business shows up on page one or page five.
Page one takes nearly all the clicks; page two might as well not exist. If you're not ranking, you're invisible to the customers who are actively searching for what you sell.
SEO works across three areas: on-page optimization (your content and metadata), technical SEO (how Google crawls your site), and off-page authority (links and mentions from other sites). The Agentic Local package works the on-page and technical layers plus local SEO for one location, month after month — every change routed through you for approval. The same fundamentals are what AI search rewards in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
Agentic Local: what the agents actually do
Agents map the terms your customers actually search, sort them by intent, and re-check your positions every 7 days — so the package always knows which pages to work on next.
Title tags, meta descriptions, headings, internal links. Agents draft the fixes with the reasoning attached; you approve them before anything on your site changes.
Crawlability, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, sitemaps. Recurring audits with a prioritized fix list — not a one-time PDF that goes stale.
Agents watch your profile and the map pack around it, then recommend what to change. Nothing is written to your Business Profile until you approve it.
Your name, address, and phone across the directories that matter. The package monitors your listings for drift and flags what needs fixing, where.
Reports that show rankings, traffic, and leads — not just impressions. You see exactly what moved, what the agents recommended, and what you approved.
Most SEO companies make a small business ask for a quote. Of the 654 US local SEO agency websites we checked in August 2026, roughly nine in ten published no price at all. The 33 that published an SEO-only monthly rate had a median of $1,199 a month, and among the 27 that published a full ladder, the top tier's median was $3,000.

Ours are below, on the page. Agentic Local is $249/month for one location. AI-guided setup is included: it walks you through connecting your site and your Google Business Profile, then the agents take over the recurring work — audits, rank tracking, keyword mapping, and a running list of recommendations. We've done SEO for small businesses across the US since 2010; this package is that work with the manual hours automated out of it.
The agents recommend. You approve. Nothing on your site or your Business Profile changes until you say so — and profile writes stay off entirely until you turn them on. It's your business; the package is built to respect that.
Agents do the hours, so you don't pay for them, and AI search work is included. Month-to-month, no contracts, cancel any month. Rather run the tools yourself? Pro is the self-serve software plan. Rather have a person do the work? That is the SEO Services retainer, at $995/month.

Backlinks are still one of the strongest ranking factors in Google's algorithm. A link from an authoritative, relevant website tells Google your content is worth trusting. But not all links are equal — and bad links can tank a site faster than no links at all.
Straight answer: link building is not part of the Agentic Local package. Done right, it is slow, manual outreach to real websites — and done wrong, it is the fastest way to a penalty. Most cheap "links included" packages are the done-wrong kind, which is why cheap bulk backlink packages sit on our red-flag list below.
What the package builds instead are the local authority signals that are safe to automate: consistent citations, a well-tended Business Profile, and content worth linking to. If you do evaluate a link vendor, weigh topical relevance first and domain authority second — a niche blog in your industry beats a generic DR80 site with no connection to your topic.
Keyword research is the foundation of the package. Before recommending a single change, the agents map your keyword universe: what your customers search, what your competitors rank for, and where the gaps are.
Keywords are grouped by search intent and clustered into topics, and every recommendation traces back to that map. This isn't just finding keywords — it's the blueprint the agents work from, and you can open it any time.
TRY OUR KEYWORD TOOLS →SEO is not an overnight fix, and nobody can honestly promise a date: how fast each stage moves depends on where your site starts and how competitive your market is. Here's the order it happens in:
Technical audit, keyword research, on-page optimization, site architecture cleanup. Rankings may drop slightly as we restructure.
New content starts indexing, backlinks accumulate, long-tail keywords begin ranking. You'll see traffic movement in Search Console.
Competitive keywords start moving and organic traffic compounds. This is the stage where the work keeps paying back without a per-click cost.
QUESTIONS BUYERS ASK
For one location, plan on $249/month for one location if agents do the monthly work and you approve it, or $995/month if a person does the work. Both are month-to-month, cancel anytime.
Pro is the cheaper route if you would rather run the software yourself, and the audit is free either way, so you see what your site needs before you pay for anything.
Whatever you pay, the invoice should say what was done. A price that comes with a promised ranking, or a date for one, is built on nothing: nobody controls Google's results.
Most will not tell you until you ask: roughly nine in ten US local SEO agencies publish no price at all. Among those that do, the entry rate has a median of $1,199 a month and the top published tier a median of $3,000.
The figures are our own count. We checked the pricing pages of 654 US local SEO agencies in August 2026 and read every figure by hand on 2026-09-02: 33 published an SEO-only monthly rate, and 27 published a full ladder from entry tier to top tier.
Read the price with what it buys. In the study, the cheapest tiers covered Business Profile and citation work with a monthly report; the common agency entry package added technical fixes, a few pieces of content and a few links a month; the top tiers were multi-location or competitive-market programs.
It finds what keeps your site from ranking, fixes it, and keeps checking whether the fixes worked.
In the package here that means a technical audit, keyword research sorted by intent, fixes to titles, descriptions and headings, Google Business Profile and citation work, rank checks every 7 days, and a monthly report on what moved.
What we do not sell is link building. Done right it is slow, manual outreach; done cheaply it is the fastest way to a penalty.
It is when your time is worth more running the business than learning SEO, and the company shows you what it changed and why.
It is not worth it if the company guarantees a #1 ranking, locks you into an annual contract, reports only impressions, or will not quote a price until you have booked a call. Those are the red flags on this page for a reason.
Everything here is month-to-month, cancel anytime, and with Agentic Local nothing on your site or your Business Profile changes until you approve it.
Yes. People still search when they need a plumber, a dentist or a lawyer, and the map pack and the AI answer above the results are both built from what Google already knows about your business and your site.
What changed is where the answer appears. Google's AI Overview now answers questions on the results page itself, so a page has to be worth citing as well as worth ranking. Google's own guidance calls optimizing for its AI features "still SEO", and that work is included in Agentic Local rather than sold as a separate package.
What has not changed is the work: a current Business Profile, a site Google can crawl, and pages that answer the customer's question. That is what the free audit checks and what the monthly package keeps doing.
